The U.S. Postal Service® is enhancing the mail experience nationwide with the Informed Delivery feature that provides eligible residential consumers with a digital preview of their household's mail. This session will detail the advantages of Informed Delivery to consumers and mailers.

Informed Delivery bridges the gap between the physical and digital worlds to create an innovative experience for consumers. Benefits include;

  • Interact directly with incoming mail and package providers on the secure, online dashboard.

  • View images of the exterior, address side of letter-sized mailpieces scheduled to arrive.

  • Check the delivery status of packages and when they're scheduled to arrive.

  • Leave delivery instructions if not home to accept a package.

  • Schedule a missed package to be redelivered.

  • Set up email and/or text notifications to track the delivery status of packages.

Informed Delivery offers business mailers the opportunity to engage users through an integrated mail and digital marketing campaign that generates additional consumer impressions, interactions, and insights. Benefits include;

  • Offers a high email open rate – more than twice the industry average

  • Generates multiple impressions from a single mailpiece (digital + physical)

  • Drives consumer response with interactive content related to the mailpiece

  • Ability to reach consumers digitally by merely knowing their physical address

  • Potentially increases ROI on Direct Mail spend

  • Provides additional data insights to optimize marketing spend

Nicholas A. Brandt

I started my Postal career in 1996 in Minneapolis, MN as a City Letter Carrier. After taking a hiatus, I enrolled in the USPS Associate Supervisor program and served as a Customer Service Supervisor and acting Station Manager. Wanting more knowledge about mailing requirements and postal products led me to a position as a Mailing Standards Specialist and eventually to my current role on the Business Alliance Team.
